中日ドラゴンズ魂の注入方法について
少年野球での野球教室
少年野球時代はプロ野球のシーズンオフになると中日ドラゴンズの選手による野球教室を開催
していた。選手が4名でコーチが1名である。少年野球の予算もあり、1軍バリバリの選手は呼べ
なかったが、これからの有望選手が毎年きてくれていた。
私が6年生の時は現中日の2軍監督をしている仁村徹選手もきた。そして、その年のコーチは
デビュー戦の巨人相手にいきなりノーヒットノーランを達成した伝説のピッチャーである
近藤真市を育てた稲葉ピッチングコーチもきた。
普段はショートを守っていたが親のプッシュも有り稲葉コーチにピッチングの指導も受けた。
野球教室はプロ野球選手に野球を教えてもらうことと、プロ野球選手からサインをもらうこと
とてもうれしかったのを覚えている。
当時の中日にはロッテから落合博満をトレードで獲得するなど星野監督の勝ちたいという気持
ちがファンの子供達にまで伝わっていた。
そして当時の星野監督は乱闘などがおおく、バブル時代の中日ドラゴンズには乱闘要員の様な
選手がいた。代打ではあまり打つところを見たことはないが、乱闘になるといち早くマウンド
に行く選手が2人いた。岩本選手と小松崎選手である。
これは幼子頃にもプレーヤーとしてというよりは勢いをつける選手というイメージがあった。
実は6年生の時の野球教室には岩本選手もきていたのである。
もちろん乱闘の仕方と教えてもらった訳ではないが、当初怖い人だと思っていた。しかし、
話を実際聞いてみると面白い人でビックリした記憶がある。
これらの様にプロ野球選手が野球教室をすることで選手を身近に感じることができる。
身近に感じることでテレビでみると自然に応援するのである。
中学時代はひたすら2軍の阿久比球場
中学生の時に中日に入団していきなりスターになったのが立浪選手である。一年目の開幕戦から
出場して、一年目から優勝をしたのである。
そんな立浪選手も二年目故障をしていたのである。
私たちの家からはナゴヤ球場よりも近い阿久比球場に立浪選手がいることに興奮してしまい。
友達と一緒に自転車で何度も知多にある阿久比球場に行った。
立浪選手は故障での調整のため2軍の試合に出るわけではないが、近くにいると言うことだけで
幸せな気分になれたのである。
そんな時、事故が起こった。
ライトの外野スタンドを歩いていた私たちの近くにバッターの打った打球が飛んできたのである。
今でもしっかり覚えているが、私のお腹めがけて打球がとんできた、あまりにも急なことだった
のでびっくりしてしまいた身動きができなかった。
そして覚悟を決めたときに事故は起こった。
手前にいた友達の頭に直接ボールが当たったのである。
プロ野球選手の打ったホームランボールが中学生の頭に直接あたったことで球場は大騒ぎになった。
幸い脳に異常はなく、これと言ったケガもなかった。
頭にあった時にボールが大きく跳ね返ったのがよかったらしい。あたったボールがそのまま下に
落ちると打球を吸収してしまうことで大けがになることがあるというのだ。
そして、この事故を知った選手で当時としてもベテランで2軍の調整をしていた鈴木孝政投手が
心配して見に来てくれてとても感動した。
ただ、友達から今でもいわれる失態は、友達が打球が当たり寝込んでいるところに来た、鈴木
選手にサインをもらおうとしたのである。
プロ野球選手、しかも一軍バリバリの有名選手が目の前にきて舞い上がってしまったのだが、
友達には申し訳ない気持ちはもちろんある。
あと、阿久比球場では忘れられない思い出がもう一つある。2年目を故障で2軍生活している
立浪選手をなんとか励ましたくて、2軍の寮に手紙を書いたのである。
プライベートでの手紙は初めての経験だった。
そして後日、寮の人経由でお礼のサイン色紙が送られてきたのである。
あれから20年以上、立浪選手のファンです。
これらのように二軍には様々な状況の選手がいる。
一軍と違いセキュリティがあまいため選手とふれあう機会も多くなるので二軍の練習を
見ることでストーリーが生まれこれまで以上に一軍での試合が面白くなるのである。
ナゴヤ球場への応援
私の父親は大の中日ファンであり、家にいるときはいつもテレビで応援していた。当時は地元
局に加えて三重テレビのアンテナを入れるとより多く試合が見られたのを覚えている。
お風呂に入るときはラジオをつけて聞いており、中日が負けると起こってラジオを投げたり
していたのである。
合計で4個のラジオを壊したのを最近自慢したりもしていた。
当時の中日は人気が凄く、チケットはなかなかとることが出来なかった。
当時はチケットの購入の仕方があまりわからないのもあり自分でチケットを買うことはほと
んどなかった。
しかし、近所の人が年に1回くらい会社のシーズンチケットがあるからどうですかと、渡しに
きてくれることがあった。シーズンチケットはバックネット裏のオレンジシート言われる
一番高いチケットであった。
ナゴヤ球場に年に一度くらい応援に行くことは一大イベントだった。
名古屋に電車に乗って行くことは私はほとんど無かったからだ。父親は週末競馬をしに、
ナゴヤ球場の手前の金山駅にしばしばいっていいたので慣れていたようである。
とにかく名古屋球場での観戦は数回しか無いが鮮明に覚えている。
みんなで応援をするとパロマの電工掲示板が応援のボリュームに合わせて大きくなったり、
七回になると井村屋のグランド整備の車が球場に入ってきたのは印象的だった。
あと応援するときにはメガホンを購入してもらい一生懸命たたいた記憶がある。疲れると
紙パックのジュースを購入し、ジュースについているクリップを集めて帽子につけていた。
ナゴヤ球場は熱気が凄かった。球場自体が狭いのもあるが、星野監督時代の中日は特に
熱狂的だったと記憶している。
そしてゲーリーと落合の打ち方をみんな真似していた。
これらのように子供の頃に野球場へ試合を見に行くことは一大イベントであり、とても
記憶に残りやすいのである。プロ野球の試合を見ることでプレーが凄いこともあるが、
ファンの熱狂や家族の熱狂を目の当たりにすることでプロ野球の存在が大きなものになる。
これはテレビでは味わえない、ライブだからこそ出来る特別な感覚である。
